Demonstration and question and answer session

Coming soon...

Aikido is an unusual martial art, combining as it does powerful and effective technique with profound spiritual practice and a unique method of conflict resolution. It is not easy to see all that Aikido has to offer from an initial preliminary view, and so we are offering an indepth presentation of the art.

The demonstration/introductory session will include:
The techniques – holds, throws, blows, locks and pins
Training methods
Principles of Aikido
Self defence applications
Aikido Weapons
Knife Defences

There will be an opportunity to discuss the spiritual practice (there are no religious implications whatsoever), and conflict resolution.

Questions about the art and the dojo are most welcome at this event.

Andy Hathaway, who holds a 6th dan from The United Kingdom Aikido Federation, and a 5th dan Aikikai, runs the demonstrations. They are usually timed to coincide with the start of our beginners courses (see ‘How to start' section), but no commitment to any course is required to attend the demonstration. It is a good time to attend and decide on your training plans.
